His hair reaches his collar to frame his oval face and his hazel eyes are usually quite expressive. Before he was turned, he had a moustache and beard and decided to keep it as it made him appear more distinguished.

UNIQUE FEATURES Nathaniel's Southern accent is muted and as of recently, he always wears dull colored clothing. He never goes anywhere without wearing his dark navy blazer and a thong necklace with a fang that his brother gave him before he died.

PHYSICAL WEAKNESSES: Vampires possess a hypersensitivity to UV light. Exposure to sunlight is very deadly as it can damage the skin with sunburns and skin malignances that vampires have no means of naturally repairing. Vampires are severely allergic to all blood thinners, including garlic. Vampires have a strong craving for blood, commonly referred to simply as “thirst” or “bloodlust.” It is controllable as long as a vampire drinks blood daily. If vampires ever skip drinking blood for a day or more, they will experience a craving for blood much like how a drug addict experiences a craving for an addiction.

Nathaniel's determination is legendary to the people who know him. He can push forward single-mindedly when he finds something that he wants very much. In relationships, he gives a hundred percent to the other person and demands absolute loyalty and faith. He is a generous, loyal and caring partner towards anyone he cares about and he shares whatever success he has with them. He is not afraid of obstacles or challenges and continues to work on a problem until he finds a solution or he decides that it is impossible. Nathaniel also likes to be practical and hard working, having a good memory. Now that his family is dead, his optimism has been severely reduced and he is furious with himself for not being able to save them from the virus. He prefers to stay alone and is nostalgic as he tries to come to terms with his grief. He doesn't tolerate people not trusting him, and he is afraid of people getting so close.

Now, he hates to be reminded of the virus and his past, and once he is, it will not be long before something is broken or Nathaniel raises his voice. One of the only reasons that he does not kill himself is the belief that his purpose and calling is to help people. There are times when he thinks he hears the voices of his parents and brother speaking to him, though it is never anything but berating or asking why he let them die. Nathaniel had believed that he could protect the people he loved from no matter what - or at least to the best of his ability. Knowing that his ability was not good enough eats away at him and leads him to drink or stare at the horizon for hours.

If nothing else, Nathaniel adheres fiercely to his morals and values. Should someone violate what he knows is wrong, he always has a word with them in order to make sure it never happens again. When the situation is chaotic and immediate action is required, he steps forward to be the leader. Doing what is right is incredibly important to him and so is honesty, justice, and decency. His manners are a strong guiding force and often Nathaniel lends a helping hand when no one asks him or attempts to cheer someone who looks under the weather. He cares about others' state of well being much more than his own, which has increased recently because besides being racked with guilt, it is the only way to justify not discovering a cure for the virus that took his family.

history

Nathaniel was born to Spencer and Lila Wyatt in Columbia, South Carolina. Two years later, they had another son named Adam and the two brothers grew up close. Spencer and Lila were Christian but preferred to introduce their religion to their children in a quiet, unforceful way, celebrating Christmas and a couple other occasions. Nathaniel and Adam were precocious and loved to explore, taking an interest in the sciences. The two spent most of their time in the backyard, making dirt forts and collecting bugs when they were not in school. They also went to the park occasionally in order to play soccer with the local boys in the neighborhood. Nathaniel did well in his classes, but excelled in science in particular. The Wyatts visited Myrtle Beach each summer to visit relatives and as such that nutured his love for the place, later on becoming his home. His favorite relative happened to be Aunt Lydia who made him lemonade and regailed him with tales of her adventures tending to people in Africa.

The arrival of junior high and puberty proved to have new problems for him because he was not social and kept to himself with the exception of the science club. In high school, he made a couple more friends than before, although he also spent his free time with his brother. Adam became more rebellious when he was in tenth grade and Nathaniel in twelfth, spending more time with the wrong sort of crowd. Towards the end of high school, Nathaniel discovered a particular interest in biology and decided that he wanted to be a doctor. His parents supported his plan and he applied to University of South Carolina, School of Medicine after attending college. Determined, Nathaniel studied diligently in order to succeed and received good marks. He was so focused with his university classes that he only made a couple of good friends that he trusted, despite his willingness to help people in need. While he was in medical school, Adam contacted him frequently and Nathaniel soon became much closer to his brother, much to his happiness.

Christopher Adams, his vampire sire, became Nathaniel's friend mostly by accident. On the rare occasions Nathaniel met a coworker at a bar for drinks and conversation, he sat next to Christopher at the counter before striking a conversation about the type of drinks they ordered. They talked for an hour and a half before Nathaniel left the bar and they met again the next night. A pattern of meeting every other day formed as the two became friends. One day, Nathaniel let it slip that he attended church every so often and Christopher's attitude changed. He had a harsh religious upbringing: not only did his parents restrict many aspects of his life, but he did not make any friends as a child. At age twenty five, however, Christopher met a vampire who became his friend and soon after, his sire. The sire's group of vampire companions made sure that Christopher felt welcome and part of the small family. He liked Nathaniel and wanted to free him from the religious bonds that entrapped him, so one Wednesday night, he invited his friend over to his house to turn Nathaniel into a vampire. Nathaniel was not as grateful as Christopher hoped, however, and immediately rushed out of the door. The bloodlust urge soon overtook him and he attacked the nearest person he could find - unfortunately, the body was soon discovered afterwards and the victim was one of Nathaniel's patients. The incident was featured on the news and attracted the attention of a scout, who recognized the attack as that of a vampire. The scout managed to find Nathaniel, who was hiding from the law just in case the police discovered his trail, and told him about the school.

He stayed there for a few months with his brother until he received messages from his sire. He decided to go to Europe to search for him and continued until the virus struck. Worried about how this could affect people, he started to work on a cure but all his attempts failed. Nonetheless, Nathaniel did not stop until he received news that his parents showed the first signs of the virus. Nathaniel returned home panicked and worried, but hid his fears as much as possible while he visited them. He and Adam stayed with them until their very last breath and arranged their funeral. Adam found himself ill during the funeral preparations, but hid the fact from Nathaniel until it was much too late and passed away. Nathaniel had to manage his parents and brother's property, making arrangements in almost a robotic state. The months after the funeral, he sank deeper into depression and rarely left his house.

Finally, Nathaniel sold most of his family's possessions, keeping the rest as momentos, and bought a trip back to Europe in order to find his sire. His only clue was a vague feeling tugging him in the way he was supposed to go. When he visited England, he saw how devastated the country had become after the virus had hit. He met someone who said that Christopher planned to meet him in Greece so they could gather a group of vampires who were to be their family. The way it was phrased and Nathaniel heard it, it sounded as though his sire wanted to start a freakish cult. As a result, he had to travel to stop his sire from doing anything. He traveled by train and bus, even walking great distances to save money and managing to catch small animals on the way for sustinence. His funds slowly disappeared and he was unable to rent rooms in hostels - and to make matters worse, Nathaniel became lost walking to another town in Macedonia. He continued slowly, though it became more difficult to find any animals, or at least any to quench the dull throb of hunger. His only hope is that someone will find him.
